NYU Dentistry Tooth Fairy Van

The Dental Program has a history of continually expanding to meet children's needs for oral health education and preventive care. In 1976, the Dental Program began visiting schools to provide oral health education. A toothbrush distribution program and school-administered fluoride rinse schedule rounded out the Dental Program's activities.

Resource Libraries

WCCP has a large collection of books, audiotapes, DVDs, videos, and workbooks that any parent, caregiver, or provider in Washington or Hancock counties can borrow free of charge. Included is the Autism Resource Library. Other topics included are child development, parenting, gentle and effective discipline, professional development, education law, and a wide variety of special needs. Some books and videos are aimed at children, to help them understand their own or another's special needs.

Rehabilitative and Community Support Services (RCS)

Rehabilitative and Community Supports Service(RCS) is a skill building program for children with pervasive developmental disorder/autism, or intellectual developmental disabilities. This service focuses primarily on increased skill development and physical development activities, as well as behavior management.

Our goal is to keep families together by increasing the child's level of functioning, skill development, and decreasing maladaptive behaviors.

A Behavioral Health Professional(BHP) provides direct care, one-to-one services.

Each child is assessed by a coordinator, followed by a meeting with the family in their home or at the agency. After discussing the child's assessments and reviewing all services the child and family is receiving, the team develops a quarterly plan of care for the child.

The plan of care includes the child's and family's long and short term goals for a three month period. It also includes the recommended number of service hours.

During each session, our staff works with the child to meet his or her goals and objectives. At the end of each quarter, a progress note is written and a new plan of care is developed.

These services are offered to families with children between the ages of 3 and 20 years old living in Washington County.

The staff is available to provide training and support in the home or the community on a regular basis.

Rehabilitative and Community Support Services (RCS) - Specialized (School or Home Based)

This program is directed by a BCBA, using applied behavioral analysis (ABA), targeting children that need services more intense than RCS skill building program

Home and Community Based Child and Family Treatment (HCT)

This short-term treatment program is for children diagnosed with significant emotional disorders and their families or caregivers. Our clinicians and trained Behavioral Health Professionals (BHP) provide education and training to assist children and their families/caregivers in acquiring the skills to live together and thrive in their homes and in the community.
